Batman Returns to Chicago?

While the big Batman location news these days is the whole Hong Kong deal, the film does expect to do most of the primary shooting right here in the States. In fact, the Nolan brothers are reportedly eying up the city of Chicago for another Batman performance, having loved it so much the first time. Director Christopher Nolan told the Chicago Sun-Times: "Shooting in Chicago again is something we're definitely thinking about because we had a truly remarkable experience shooting there the first time."I've never spent time in Chicago, but the city is on the short list of places which holds a sort of American mystique for me. Although (or perhaps because, who knows) I have no personal experience with the place, it holds a tiny place in my heart, and I'm always pleased to hear good news about it. It occurs to me, however, a major motion picture spending a large amount of time in your city may not be considered "good" news by the residents themselves. So what about it, Chicago? Excited to welcome them back, or already grumbling about the traffic stoppages?

I live by Chicago, so I say, by all means, please Please return to Chicago! It's such an under-used city for Hollywood.

Oh, it's just another pebble on the Chicago gridlock beach. Besides, how great is it to be able to point to some area and remember a movie moment? There's a website with tour instructions for people who want to visit sites from "The Blues Brothers". I suppose several folks have walked down the same street that Cher walked on (in Queens?) one early morning in "Moonstruck".
I didn't know that "Batman Begins" was shot in Chicago, though I've probably gone past some of the loading docks from the movie many times. Chicago can provide great backdrops for films wanting a 30's era gangster feel.

Definitely excited to have them back; they really didn't cause that much disruption when they were here last time (the majority of the shooting was at night time).

I got to see the Batmobile roaring down Wabash last time so I am all for inconveniencing a few commuters. It was awesome.

I'm from Chicago and I remember when they shot it hear. Pretty much all of the overhead shots, chase scenes, were all shot in Chicago. They didn't disrupt traffic at all because they shot everything late at night. Quite frankly I was proud of how beautiful Chicago looked when I finally saw the movie. Now obviously we don't have a rail system like that, and no Barrows, but that's the beauty of CGI. I hope they do come back to Chicago.

I always saw Metropolis as New York, and Gotham City as Chicago. Speaking as a native of Chicago it will be great to have them shoot here again. Something that I always though was funny is that we do have a place that is geographicly like the Narrows from the first movie(goose island), but it isn't in the same place as they showed it.

The bridges are all the ones that cross the Chicago River downtown. My girlfriends from there so I sort of know the area. Hell when Bruce and crap umm Katy Holmes are in her car in the scene where she takes him to the shanty town area and slaps him you see the Blue Line train stop signs and I think maybe some parts of the Art Institute in it as well?
